Mary Elizabeth Horne

Charleston, SC b.1992

Elizabeth is a third generation artist and creates paintings portraying abstract energetic movement along with modern landscapes. Her landscapes seem almost ethereal in their nature and beauty, often depicting a reflection of her deep roots to the South Carolina lowcounty. Her process is a mix of paint and telluric materials, with each piece being platformed by her own writing and the nature that surrounds her.
Her works are tailored to the connection of individual experience, making the offering both nostalgic and totemic in spirit for each viewer. She believes that art should reflect the energy of space, contribute to it, and feel like an essential piece to the flow of the room. Her work centers around the mantra that art can hold space for old and new memories, making each piece timeless for the collector.
Her paintings have been acquired for both public and private collections in New York, Dallas, Atlanta, Nashville and abroad.
